Newborn Photography Session FAQ's
Where is the session held?
Sessions are held at my home studio in Hove, East Sussex, UK where I have a large selection of props, beautiful textures and blankets for your newborn.
How far in advance do I need to book?
For a newborn session it is best to book before your baby is here, Ideally just after your 20 week scan. We only have a limited amount of time (around 14 days) to get those sleepy, curly newborn poses and I only take limited sessions each week to accommodate early and late babies so booking early is best. If you have already given birth and have only just found out about bambini please still contact us as we may be able to squeeze you in.
What happens if I book a newborn session and baby decides to make an appearance early or late?
That is absolutely fine, I know that babies arrive when they want to so I always give priority to my newborn sessions. As long as you let me know as soon as baby arrives, I can make sure I have a date free for you within the first 14 days.
Who can come to the session?
It’s best if only the people being photographed be at the session. For newborn sessions it works well to have Mum with one other person – preferably Dad so I can incorporate some family shots if you so wish. Siblings are also welcome to join for the session.
What should older siblings wear?
For siblings I would recommend that you choose simple and timeless outfits. Dresses in white, cream & pastels work well for girls, and beige, grey, jeans trousers for boys. Try to avoid busy patterns or really bright colours which will take the focus of the image away from your baby & older children.
How long does a session take?
Expect a newborn session to last anywhere between three to four hours. All other sessions last between one and two hours. This may sound like a long time but this allows plenty of time for feeds, cups of tea and comforting in between set ups.
How do I select my final images and package?
You will be sent an online proofing gallery around 3-4 weeks after your session. The gallery is open for 7 days to allow you to select your package and images for printing. Once I have your order the watermark is removed from your purchased images. Your downloadable gallery is open for 14 days & all products/USB's will be ready for collection in that time period.
